Report on Combating Corruption and Upholding Integrity in China No. 2 adheres to the theme "construction" and observes soberly, interprets objectively and reflects comprehensively the most recent progress and effect of construction of combating corruption and upholding integrity in China from an academic perspective. The book includes observations by the Chief Editor, general report, special reports, regional reports and thematic reports.
The Chief Editor summarizes the work of improvement of Party work style and fighting against corruption in recent years, 2011 and 2012 in particular, and makes the judgment of "one strong and three high degrees" concerning the current process of fighting against corruption and building a clean government: "strong intensity" of corruption governance by departments and localities, "high degree of concern" over corruption by the public, "high degree of participation" by the society in governing corruption and "high degree of expectation" of people for anti-corruption effect. The Chief Editor answers the three unavoidable questions of how to look at in-depth causes for the frequent occurrence of corruption in some important fields and important positions, how to look at the public "hatred" and "indifference" towards corruption and what attitude one should adopt toward the historical process of corruption governance in China, and comes to the conclusion that "scientifically regulating power is always a core issue for fighting against corruption and building a clean government" .
