2014 is the tenth anniversary year of EU eastern enlargement. This enlargement has profound impacts both on the new CEE（central and eastern Europe） member states and on the EU itself. It deeply analyzes the achievements of the enlargement，the positive and negative impacts on the EU itself and the existing problems and challenges. It conducts an in-depth discussion on the trade dispute between China and the EU on China’s solar panel products, the EU’s youth employment, the construction of European banking union, the accession to the EU of Croatia, Europe’s new energies and the latest development of EU-ETS.
