Description:

This book consists of four parts of content. The first part is a main research report focusing on the current situation of the development of the digital economy, building a framework for research and analysis of the digital economy in the context of the actual development of China's digital economy, and proposing an analytical framework for the four divisions of the digital economy. The second part explores various aspects of the digital economy and introduces its applications in four areas, including smart cities, financial innovation, the digital divide and some problems in the development of digital industries, concluding that the future development of the digital economy is mainly manifested in the level of intelligence in manufacturing, the accelerated breakthrough of core technologies and the expansion of the scope of application scenarios. The third part focuses on Shenzhen, where the digital economy and blockchain are better developed, and in particular, based on the theory of socialist political economy with Chinese characteristics in the new era, delves into the contents, demonstration conditions and relevant policies of building a pioneering demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics in Shenzhen. It is argued that the special characteristics of Shenzhen have led to the development of a driving force for innovation, including the power of market-based reforms, government deregulation and moderate participation in innovation activities, the attractiveness of new industries and the human resource security provided by immigrants. The fourth section contains extracts from national and local government plans for the development of the digital economy in the 14th Five-Year Plan.
