The "China's Economy: Analysis and Forecast" conference and book launch for Blue Book of China's Economy in 2013 were held jointly in Jianguo Garden Hotel in Beijing on 5th December 2012.

Xie Shouguang, president of the Social Sciences Academic Press, which publishes the "Blue Book" series, presided over the event. Li Xuesong, the report's associate editor and deputy director of the Institute of Quantitative and Technical Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), gave an overview of the report. He noted that there will be much uncertainty in the global economic situation in 2013. There are three main risk factors. First, the crisis in the euro zone may deepen, and the possibility cannot be ruled out that some countries will opt to leave it; secondly, the danger of a "fiscal cliff" in the US looms large, and lastly, the internal vulnerability of the emerging economies may make themselves felt yet again. Participants of the event discussed the development trends for China's economy, including possible problems the country will face. Key economic indicators for the 2012-2013 periods were presented.

The event was jointly hosted by the Economics Division and the Institute of Quantitative and Technical Economics, both of CASS, and the Social Sciences Academic Press.
