Owing to Chinese Book International Promotion Program of Chinese government, and the large world market demands for Chinese social science achievements, directed under CASS, the highest academic research institution in China, SSAP actively involved themselves into international books publishing cooperation, introducing Chinese social science achievements to the global community.

Beginning 2006, SSAP has entered a partnership with Brill of the Netherlands, under which the English editions of the Pishu “Annual Reports of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences” is published. In addition, SSAP enjoys cooperative relations with corresponding institutions in Japan, Australia, and Russia. On October 9, 2007, chief of press Xie Shouguang and other Academy representatives attended the Second Sino-Russian Social Science Forum, signing the “Framework Cooperation Agreement” with the Russian Sciences Academic Press subsequent to speaking at forum lectures. In 2008, China’s Dilemma: Economic Growth, the Environment, and Climate Change was published in conjunction with the Australian Asia Pacific Press. The same year, SSAP and Japan’s Sasawaka Peace Foundation jointed published “Three Decades of Sino-Japanese Friendly Exchanges,” which has been distributed in Japan. A youth history summer camp is held annually under the organization of the Modern China Studies Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Asia Peace and History Education Group of Korea, and the China-Japan-Korea Youth History Summer Camp Execution Committee of Japan. Host countries are alternated annually, and is now in its 8th year. Schools from all areas have actively participated, and the camp has received commendation and acknowledgement from all parties.

At present, SSAP purchases and exports more than 50 copyrights per year, prints assorted illustrated texts, of which 35 categories are in English, and partakes in approximately 20 international cooperative or exchange projects.
